I started martial arts at 10 with karate but realised quickly that I needed something more free flowing, so I moved onto boxing. From there I found kickboxing and trained that discipline for a number of years.

In my 20s I got my daughter into judo and joined myself to round out my skill set. At a similar time I found muay thai kickboxing and trained in that also.

At 30 years old I found mixed martial arts, and whilst trying that out, I experienced Brazilian jiu-jitsu for the first time. I was immediately hooked and fell in love with the sport and have been training exclusively that for the last 10 years.

I’ve competed in numerous competitions with mixed success but it’s never dulled my passion for the sport. I believe in training whenever and wherever possible in order to broaden the mind, and this aids me in passing the skill on to all sorts of people regardless of their abilities or mind sets.
